(view spoiler)[Essentially, during that time that Des's magic prevented him from visiting Callie (during their seven years apart), the Bargainer protected her from a distance. By then, several of the Bargainer's clients knew he was "working" with the siren he took along on his bargains. So once he could no longer protect Callie with his own magic, one of the things he did to ensure his mate's safety was to make Callie disappear from official records. That way his clients couldn't track her down and potentially harm her or use her against him. By the time Gabrielle attended Peel Academy, the records had already been scrubbed of Callypso.
... And that's the really long-winded explanation for why Gabrielle was thought to be the last of the sirens even though Callypso Lillis existed at the time. :) The reason I don't really go over this in the Bargainer series is that I wanted to keep the two series mutually exclusive so that readers didn't have to read one to read the other!
Hope that explanation helps. (hide spoiler)]

Laura Thalassa:
Hi Laura! I'm a huge fan of your new series involving the horseman of the apocalypse; I've enjoyed your other books, too, but Pestilence was one of the best written books I've read in a while. You truly shined as a writer. It was incredible and left me breathlessly inspired. So, my question is, what modern writers inspire you? What books have inspired you?
