Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Eileen Schnabel I visited a local cemetery and saw a grave for an American Revolution soldier, which is unusual in Wisconsin. I thought how brave he'd been, how young at the time. I wondered why he'd followed Washington when American odds were low and times hard. I wondered if current Americans would be as brave, willing to sacrifice as much. So I decided to test it out and send four modern kids back in time. :-)
