is this hard to read? i do really enjoy descriptive writing, but don't particularly enjoy literally not knowing what is happening and having to decipher everything

Ascolta This is def. a plot-driven novel. The timeline skips around a moderate amount as much of the story takes place in flashbacks, but never to the extent that I couldn't follow what what happening. In terms of gauging the difficulty of prose, reading some of the book's quotations would probably give the best answer.

I would make the rough estimate that this could be a bit much for a high school book, but fully expect college students to follow w/out problem. Maybe the trickiest part = the bunch of half-French snippets of conversation? But context always makes it pretty clear what was said - like the narrator answers in English, so reverse engineering the question isn't to difficult.
