Goodreads asked Chris Rook:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Chris Rook I remember when I first started writing reading some advice about setting yourself a goal, a word count to write each day. It doesn't matter if it's rubbish or it edits down to one sentence the following day, but you hit that goal, every day. I followed this advice and set myself a goal of one thousands words a day, after a while it became so habitual that on the days I didn't write it felt alien and weird. I find this strategy helps with writer's block, that pushing through and getting something on paper regardless of it's quality helps break the blockage.
