Really mixed reviews, assuming it might be a romance novel and not everyone is into that.

Ariel Brown I actually found it highly romantic. Not the young passionate romantic tale of young love - but the love that grows out of shared hardship and pain. The love of middle age, which is no less intense or has less hurdles. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense, and the highly emotive love entanglements.
Maria I would not categorize this book as a romance. It has elements of romance in it, but it isn't a romance. I think people may have expected it to be, which is why reviews are mixed.
Audra Daniels There are some romantic elements, but no. This is definitely not a romance novel.
Amy I found that it was similar to a prime-time drama soap (like Grey's Anatomy) which is probably part of the reason for the mixed review. Overall, I enjoyed the story but had some problems. The Tess storyline did not bring anything to the plot and only seemed to be there for drama it created. Little Big Lies was along the same lines, but a stronger book
Joan Morgan Didn't anyone think it droned on for too long?
Rachael I thought it a suspense/thriller/romance/whodunnit
