Hi again, I saw on a Reddit thread from a few weeks ago that you had met with some people about a possible film adaptation for Riyria, but never updated us on how the meeting went, so I thought I’d go ahead and ask! Any good news to share? I assume things haven’t progressed much otherwise you would have announced something by now, but even just a little bit of progress is still progress :) Best of luck to you!

Hey Britt,
Thanks for asking. We actually signed option agreements some time ago for both the Riyria books and The Legends of the First Empire series. So, the first step has been taken. The meeting you referenced was with regard for reviewing the screenplay for a Riyria television pilot. There were a lot of good things in there, but also some aspects that we weren't as pleased with. The good news is the executive producer took Robin and my feedback into consideration and they are working on a revised script.
So...the good...the executive producer is staying true to his word, which was that we'd have a say over the content of the series. The bad...the script didn't come out 100% perfect (which was a hope, but not a truly reasonable expectation).
So, yes, progress is being made, but it's still WAY TOO SOON to discuss anything meaningful at this point. After we get a screenplay that everyone likes (me, Robin, the Executive Prouducer, the screenplay writer) then we'll have to find a director that loves it as much as we do. Then we can start approaching some actors (some names have already been picked - but again it's WAY TOO SOON to say anything on that front. Bottom line, until we get these other pieces nailed down we are only a few steps on a very long road that may lead to nowhere. That's why we've not been saying much. So progress, yes...but anything I feel is worth making an official announcement about...no, not at all.

Michael, I just published my first novel, Unholy Innocents, in July, 2015. I listened to the recorded webinar that you and Robin did August 18 on Goodreads. It was very helpful. thank you. You are fortunate to have someone so capable to assist you. I am considering spending the money on a Kirkus Review. Do you have any thoughts on whether or not this is a good expenditure?

Hey Michael. Just started reading Age of Legend, and loving it so far. Wondering if there's any way to update the Goodreads page for the book to include a page count? I try and track pages read as well as books read, and I don't think pages will get tracked as it currently stands. Thanks!
