Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Caty Waterfield My most recent book, Spectrum, came about the same way that a lot of my inspiration does—on a walk with Bonnie. :) It was April of 2013, and Bonnie and I were out for our morning walk. We walked past several new spring flowers, and I took note of how beautiful all the different colors were in the morning light. I thought how sad it would be if I were unable to enjoy this moment, and thus, a book about a girl in a color blind world was born.
