I saw the movie and want to read the trilogy. Should I read the book after the movie?

Jayme Nope. This probably works better as a movie. The book will feel tedious and the characters will seem one dimensional.
Jay YES! I absolutely recommend it if you enjoyed the movie and think you will like satire of life of the uber wealthy. I watched the movie first and am now reading the trilogy (just finished 2nd book). I think it adds so much more depth to the characters (Rachel and Astrid), especially secondary characters like Eddie Cheng, Michael Teo, Colin Khoo, Araminta Lee, and even Peik Lin. Eleanor is much less of a sympathetic figure in the book. Kevin Kwan wrote CRA with the idea of a trilogy in his mind. The book reads fast with short chapters, so I never felt bogged down with less interesting story lines.
