What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Karlyn Borysenko It's funny because most of the time I'm sitting at home in my office, or in a hotel room, alone. My husband doesn't even really know what I'm up to most of the time. And so it often feels like the words go nowhere, just out to the void. They're thoughts I need to get out of my system but I don't necessarily see when they find an audience. And then one day I'm at an event, or even just bumming around on social media and someone comes up to me and tells me that my work helped them or inspired them. That part - when I can see the impact of it - it never gets old.
