The biggest thing about writing is self-discipline: every day or at least five days a week, a period of time is devoted to writing, whether it be an hour or two hours or three or whatever. Most people stumble because they lack the discipline to do the work as if it were a regular job. Also: read read read, especially in the field in which you wish to write.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed and put into practice your book Write Now. It really improved my character development for my last book. Your plotting process is also really helpful, although I am not nearly as meticulous as you. It will be my goal to strive for! Thank you! Did you start out writing with such precise plotting or did you develop it over time?
