My most recent book, Letters from Max, is co-written with my former student from Yale, Max Ritvo, a brilliant young poet who died way too young of Ewing's sarcoma. We wrote it as a way of forestalling death when he was alive; and after he was gone, I finished it as a way of remembering him.
