Goodreads asked Liam Smith:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Liam Smith I've just finished writing the first draft of my most recent book, which has the working title "The Greatest Show Under the Earth".

A couple of years ago I wrote a poetry collection called "The Patchwork Carnival". I self-published it for Amazon Kindle, but it was too small for a paperback release. So this year I decided to write a short story or novella to accompany it. It kept getting bigger and bigger and has become a bit of a novel in its own right!

I wanted to fill in some of the details of the world I'd created in "The Patchwork Carnival", whilst introducing new ideas that prose could explain better than the original poetry.

I'm hoping to release "The Greatest Show Under the Earth" before the end of 2018. Stay tuned!
