Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jaima Fixsen Incognita grew out of Fairchild quite naturally, because Alistair Beaumaris (even though he is wrong for Sophy) isn't such a bad guy. And there was another character we get a glimpse of that had an interesting story she brought along with her. I am always intrigued by what makes unpleasant people that way.
I had probably written 30K words when the story fitted itself just perfectly to a more obscure Hans Christian Anderson story--I had been looking for one, hoping to continue the motif from Fairchild.
