Hi, I read"Prince of thorns" and "King of thorns" in Dutch. "Prince of thorns" really made me fall in love with the setting of the broken empire, and I devoured "Emperor of thorns" and "The red queen's war" in English, mainly to get to know the inner workings of this fascinating world. Since no other books are planned for this setting, would you consider using it as basis for a video game or a pen & paper rpg?
Mark Lawrence
Hi Karel, good to hear you were able to finish the story with the Dutch publisher bailing on it. If it were my call I would insist on any contract guaranteeing the publication of the whole trilogy.
You can get some more Jorg & co if you get hold of Road Brothers!
Video games and RPGs would require someone in those industries to approach me (it has happened for both but never with a solid offer). I'm not particularly excited by either prospect to be honest. There are RPG systems that could easily host the books' ideas and world. And there are more fun things to make games about. Most licensed video games seem about profiting off the IP rather than making a good game.

As a fan of your work, it took me by surprise when I read that you were collaborating with the narrative of a video game called "Ashen." I can't begrudge you if your involvement is under disclosure, but the fact immensely fascinated me. Are there any hurdles in making a narrative for a video game medium that you've had/expect to overcome? Have you had any previous interest in the medium, personally or professionally?
