Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

TRICIA DOWNING Chance for Rain, which is debuting THIS week, came from both my experiences and those of women with whom I work through my non-profit The Cycle of Hope (www.thecycleofhope.org). Rainey, the main character of this book has sustained a disability, which she believes has made her unloveable. As a person with a disability (I am also a parplegic), it is a common belief that it is harder to find love if you don't fit the "perfect" or "usual" mold. This novel explores her feelings and follows her through the changes of her perceptions of herself, teaching her that one must love oneself before finding love in return.
