Dearest Ms. Paula ♥ I don't know how to express it clearly but I am moved by your novel The Paris Wife. In the end, I found myself crying and crying and crying and scared and in love. It is all so new yet so familiar. It felt like I've been good friends with Hem and Hadley and that somehow our lives have crossed. It is poignant and raw. You gave so much life to the characters and everything seemed real. Thank you!? ♥

Hello Paula, I just saw you Authors In April. I was so engrossed your in story and I just loved The Paris Wife but my favorite was Circling the Sun (I've read it twice). I don't really have a question but a thought. Back in that era if a man or a woman was truly unhappy the sometimes took left their respective families to start anew. Have you ever thought about a story like that? How do you pick your subjects?

Just finished "Love and Ruin" and feel it is your best yet! The conflict encountered by strong, independent women seems to be your forte (see my Goodreads reviews for Circling The Sun & The Paris Wife). Beautiful prose that takes us deep into the character of these women. Hemingway had a different wife for each of the 'stages' of his writing. Any thoughts about Pauline's story or Mary's?
