I think there was a passage that referred to this question. Indicating that it was not because she felt guilt about her husband's shady clientele or anything of that nature, but something smaller, more personal, bitterer. Or something to that effect. I'd guess it was sort of an FU to Frank. Perhaps they had some argument where he boasted he set her up so she couldn't spend it all if she tried so she felt compelled to prove him wrong-Kind of a Brewster's Millions thing.
