I wonder, where does your eloquence come from? Is it education, a lot of reading, both.. something else? Do you speak in the same manner as you write?

Stuart Turton Hey Lily - that's very very kind, thank you! I don't speak in the same manner I write. I wanted the book to feel very ornate and period, hence the tone. I speak much quicker, as I'm usually rushing somewhere. Generally, I think eloquence is just an enjoyment of language, and the sound of it. You can't get that without reading. Stuart, I am 133 pages into this book and I can't even begin to explain how it makes me feel. Firstly, I knew that I was going to love it just by the blurb. Time travel? Murder mystery? Both get my heart racing so I literally couldn't stop myself from dancing in Waterstones. Secondly, I was gripped from page 1. 50 pages in I had laughed and gasped out loud. I have told everyone about this book!
