Kate asked Kendare Blake:

Why does Athena seem like such a teenager? It was far-fetched that the ancient bad-ass goddess of wisdom would get tongue-tied around Odysseus. Was that part of your plan? In losing the power of the old gods, are they also diminishing in their strength? There has to be a reason....I just can't believe that's the real Athena...

Kendare Blake Well, sort of. As she delves into what it means to be mortal she's also having strange, romantic queries about Odysseus, something she's completely inexperienced with. She's never bothered with that, and really deemed herself above it all, until now. So it has her flummoxed.
