WHY is this book so loved? I mean, I didn't gain anything out of it. I'm not asking this as an insult. I genuinely want to know what the special thing about this book is.

To me, it was just so humanly raw. So open, so real yet it took you to parallel (and alternate?) universes and dealt with things like reincarnation and the power of memories/ the human mind. It was surrealistic. Haruki Murakami pulled a Dali of novels. A very adult version of Miyazaki. I personally found it to be very interesting and beautifully constructed! (less)
