How do you get inspired to write?

Alice Layne I like to think of a story concept as a seed. I think of the most interesting thing in the moment and question where it might go. What personalities might clash and mesh at the same time? The prickly brat and a no-nonsense professor, for instance, one is used to getting their way, the other used to having to discipline students. I like the idea, so I take add on a few personality quirks and write that scene.
