(view spoiler)[Hello Juliet! I'm a great fan of your work and as a portuguese I just have to ask this: where did your inspiration for the character of Duarte Aguiar in Cybele's Secret came from? He's one of my favourite characters, not because he's portuguese, but because I really love his charisma and his humour (very portuguese by the way, you caught well that trait). Also is there a chance he'll appear again in a Wildwood 3 book? (hide spoiler)]

Hi Catarina! I'm so glad you like the books. I put Duarte in Cybele's Secret more or less as a gift to my Portuguese readers, who have always been so loyal and appreciative. He fitted in well with that story's focus on trade, travel, and secretly exchanged goods. I'm glad he came across as suitably Portuguese in character!
I really don't know about a Wildwood 3 book. I can't see that happening while I have other contracts to fulfill, and as you probably know my publishers were not keen on the idea. But I do agree he would be a great character to write about again some time.

Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for writing such beautiful stories. The characters feel so real to me, and your books have meant a great deal to me over the years. I recently completed Blackthorn and Grim and I noticed a few nods to Sevenwaters. Out of curiosity: How many years have passed since the events of Sevenwaters? Thank you for your time.

I have been such a fan of yours, I was really disappointed to hear that publishers were not excited about your recent suggestions. Would you ever consider some sort of self publishing since you have such a keen fanbase? There were a few series that the publishers didn't continue like Wildwood that I wonder if you might want to continue if you had freedom to write whatever you liked and knew it could be published?
