Nicholas Eames:
Hi, I know the characters in the book are mirrored after musicians, but who were your real-life influences? I ask, because there is a moment in the book where Clay's internal monologue speaks to Ganelon deserving the stone treatment. Later he contradicts himself, but in a good way. Was there a particular real life influence for Clay? Thanks
Nicholas Eames
There isn't really a real-world influence for Clay--he's just a good--albeit conflicted--guy. As for the other band members, Matty was influenced a teensy bit by John Bonham, but other wise only Kallorek (modeled after Zeppelin's manager, Peter Grant) were heavily influenced by a real-life persona.
Rather, each of them possesses personality traits often associated with specific members of a band (Gabriel the lead singer, Clay the bassist, etc.)

Hey Nicholas! I've been trying to think of a question to ask you for a while now. Here's one. Have you planned what you're going write next, once the Band trilogy is done? If you have, what will it be like? And thanks for Ganelon and Larkspur, I hope they're there in the future books!

Thank you so much for writing "Kings of The Wyld" after trying to finish so many books and fighting a long spell FRE (Fantasy Reader Exhaustion), it was this amazing ride that finally cured me. I already wrote a little succinct review here and I don't wanted to let the opportunity pass without sending you a thank you note for taking me on this fantasy rocking tour bus!. P. S. Gabe=Kevin Costner, Clay=Mel Gibson?.

Hi Nicholas. I just wanted to let you know that I'm about 20 chapters in to Kings of the Wyld, and I'm having a blast! It's the most unique take on the fantasy genre I've come across in a long while. It's hysterical, and I love the character interactions. Such a great book. I don't have a question. i just wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying the book, but apparently I need to have a question mark, so...thanks?
