(view spoiler)[I absolutely adore your Nightlord series. It is hands down tied for my favorite fantasy series. I've noticed that in almost all of these questions you refer to the protagonist as Eric rather than any of his other monikers. Granted, he was born Eric, however this is a name we as readers are rarely presented with in the grand spectrum of the story. Is there any particular reason you do this? (hide spoiler)]

Since I tell the story through Eric, it's important for me to remember who he is. He started out as Eric, thinks of himself as "Eric," and--in a magical, names-have-power sense, IS Eric. He's had many other names--Halar being the one most commonly used--but he knows it's just another pseudonym. He can't think of himself as "The Demon King," for example, because he always knows he isn't. (Or hopes he isn't...) They're all just hats he wears, masks he puts on, not who he feels he really is. Without that fundamental sense of identity, that anchor of self, he would be pulled apart in several directions, trying to be what others think he is. (And his altar ego has enough problems with that!)
So I always think of him as "Eric," because *he* does.

How could you do this?! Just finished witch hunter and it was such a horrible tease! Not only did you not tell us the baby's name now that she is all grown up, but you didn't even give us a glimpse of Erick and his reaction to seeing his daughter being dragged away by the Spanish Inquisition. It's like walking into a 5 star stake house after a year of dieting and the waiter just drops your food on the ground. Why?!

Cosmology question! What happens to the soups from timeline-branch universes when they disappear? I'm thinking of a certain four from Mary's world. Do the energy state planes remain intact, or is the implied afterlife extra-universal? Seems like good design if the latter.
