Paige
Paige asked:

This is a bit random.... but does anyone know if the authors real name is actually 'Ambrose Parry'? I studied the history of medicine in school so the link between the subject of the book and the authors name isn't lost on me!

Sharyn I Googled Ambrose Parry and this is what I found.
"Ambrose Parry is a pseudonym for a collaboration between Chris Brookmyre and Marisa Haetzman. The couple are married and live in Scotland."
Roman Policier It must be a tribute to Ambroise Paré, a famous French surgeon who lived in the 17th century, considered "one of the fathers of surgery and modern forensic pathology and a pioneer in surgical techniques" (see Wikipedia page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambrois...
Erica Chris Brookmyre is a Scottish crime writer and Marisa Haetzman has a Master's degree in the history of medicine.
Padavi I'd love to know what the link is.
Marie What is the link ?
George I haven't studied the history of medicine, and the publication of this book has made Net-searching the answer nigh impossible. So like Padavi and Marie, I'm asking you, Paige, or anybody else who knows: What IS the link w/ that history?
