A Goodreads user asked Laura Thalassa:

Hi! So, I noticed today that Pestilence has more reviews on US Amazon than THE CRUEL PRINCE! What the hell...! I think you should be hugely proud of that, but I just...how? Holly Black has a team behind her and her books are advertised and "traditionally" published, and yours--while great!--are indie published (or even 'self'). How do widen your reach? Do you advertise? Offer ARCs? My admiration shines bright!

Laura Thalassa Gah, I NEED TO READ THE CRUEL PRINCE. Sorry, I've been hearing everywhere how amazing that book is, and I've loved some of Holly Black's other books, so ... *bumps it up on TBR list*! As far as the reviews--well, to be fair to Holly, I think traditionally published books don't get as many reviews on the 'zon as indie books. As for advertising and reach, honestly, I don't have an answer for your question except that I have the best readers ever. Seriously. I think I spent under $100 total on advertising Pestilence, which means Amazon and my readers did the rest. I don't know, I think the moral of the story is that you guys are f*cking amazing.
