I finished How To Be A Normal Person a while ago, but it has always been my go-to book when I want something to make me laugh and smile. While rereading the story I stumbled upon a question that I had always wondered about Gus. Is he a genius? Or does he have talents in very specific areas of his life? An additional question is what do the townspeople around him think of Gus himself?

Gus is Gus, which I know isn't really an answer, but that's kind of the point of the book. He isn't into labels. And he's talented at knowing himself, what he is or isn't capable of, and becoming comfortable in his own skin. He might need a push or two, but he'll get there. And Gus is beloved. They may think he's odd, but he's part of Abby. Thanks!

Hi there, this may sound really silly since I should just go and read them, but do the At First Sight series and Bear, Otter, and the Kid chronicles all overlap? I've read the AFS series and ADORED them, so I think I'll pump BOATK up my list to read if it's true that they're mixed up wit the AFS group!

I just want to thank you for your portrayal of romance not as a prelude to sex but a worthwhile journey all by itself. I didn't fully realize my own demisexuality until I read your book HTBANP, so it's safe to say that your writing changes lives. One last thing to mention: I'm Taiwanese and non of our restaurants (at home or abroad) actually serve dog meat as mentioned in TMIR!! Haha (?)
