What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

R.E. Johnston Writing a novel is a big project and it's easy to lose track of the details of all the characters. I especially hit this problem with Two Moons because each of the characters has an alter ego on Earth. I recommend keeping a detailed "dossier" on each of your characters so from the first time you introduce them you have one go-to place for their details. For example, it took me a while to learn how to spell the name of my main character's alter ego, Ri Sun-Hui, but her dossier got me through.

You'll have more information than you need for most of your characters, but that makes it more fun. In Two Moons there's a minor supporting character named Wayne. In his previous life he was a Japanese salaryman who loved baseball. That detail's not mentioned in the book--you heard it here first.
