I can't help wondering if your book club should kind of expand their horizons a little bit?

No F words in this book. No sex or adultery either. There is some wine drinking and a few of the characters say “bullsh!t” while playing a game. A perfectly wonderful Anne Tyler book.

Anne Tyler is a fantastic writer. I have read all of her books. Some have made me cry; some have had me laughing out loud. I've never found anything objectionable in any of them.

There are technically a couple of so called F words, but not a lot and I would just get over that. She is a brilliant writer and to simply reject her for a couple of very strategic F-words would be a pity. She is one of the best writers alive.

It would be a good choice...there are relationship difficulties to discuss...all kinds! There is not anything I found inappropriate for book club.

Her books are unusually beautiful, with characters and situations that are a bit off. I haven't read one in awhile, but I never remember any overt bad language. They will make you laugh and cry.
