Goodreads asked Rosemary Reeve:

How do you get inspired to write?

Rosemary Reeve Like every other normal person, I sometimes find myself thinking, "What a fantastic place to kill someone!" And then the story just starts to unfold in my mind.

That's how "Only the Good" began. At the time, I was traveling to a lot of cities that had pulp and paper mills. The mills always looked eerie to me -- lighted at night and wreathed in steam. Every time I went by them, I would think what a great setting they would be for a murder -- all that interesting, potentially lethal, machinery and atmospheric fog. And then I read about a skeleton found in the paper mill up in Bellingham, and I knew I had my venue.
