I think quite a few probably guessed the Lord's true identity, but I tried hard to throw them off them scent in book 8, and I think I succeeded in most cases. I don't worry too much if certain readers guess big twists in advance -- I think the best twists are those where there are some clues along the way for the eagle-eyed readers, as opposed to those that come completely out of the blue without any warning.
