Goodreads asked Sheila Horne:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Sheila Horne I write every day whether I feel like it or not. I'll edit a word or line or two on one of my stories. I find that gets me in the mood to continue. I'll also write about anything in my notebook. I'll pick a word and write about it. I've written quite a few poems about writer's block which have ended up being changed into either a story or a poem about something else. If I really feel that I'm not in the mood to get into my novel or a story, I'll read.
