Goodreads asked Nate Jones:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Nate Jones The story. I was reading Tolkien when I was 8, and I fell in love with new worlds and compelling stories then. Every book I've read since has fueled my love of fiction, particularly sci-fi and fantasy, and at the age of 15 I determined I was going to try to emulate the authors I respected most by creating my own stories to tell.

It's been a lifelong pursuit since then, and sinking into a world of my own creation and exploring it in a story remains one of my greatest joys in life to this day.
