A Goodreads user asked Victoria Zigler:

how do you write a good book? i wrote a book and i thing its horible. so many spelling errors

Victoria Zigler First of all, congratulations on finishing a book. That's an excellent achievment!

Unfortunately, finishing a book is only the first step. No matter how good of a writer you are, your first draft will always be terrible. That's just the way things are. But having that first draft means you have something to work with. Now you can work on improving what you've got, fix the obvious mistakes - with spelling, grammar, and any other issues - and make it the best it can be. After that, get it edited, then get it proof read. Only then can you consider publishing your book.

Writing your story is just the start. To turn that story in to a book, you have to put in a lot of time, a lot of effort, and usually also a lot of money (that last being especially true for self-publishing).
