My daughter is reading Deep Blue - checked out from the library - and I am seeing you wrote it for your 12ish aged daughter. My daughter is reading at a 6th grade level and we are struggling to find books that are interesting and challenge her - but are age appropriate. Can you tell me if there is content / topics that might not be appropriate for a 9/10 year old? She has read the entire Harry Potter series.

Hi Nicole: That's such a hard question to answer, as appropriateness varies so much among different families and children. I think my daughter was closer to 10 when she read the first of the Waterfire Saga books, and she loved it -- as did her friends -- but there are some sections that may be too intense or scary for some younger kids. I'd encourage you to read it (or any book) first, if you have any concerns.

Hi Miss Donnelly, I've just finished reading 'These Shallow Graves' a few days ago and I can't get it out of my head, it was so good. I was just wondering if you had any intentions of writing a sequel? Or even a short story to follow it up because I would love to see more. I really would love to see Jo facing the world of journalism in the 1890s and what happens between her and Eddie.

Hi! A Northern Light was amazing! It was so full of emotion and filled to the brim with the honest to goodness facts of real life. I was wondering where you learned about the murder of Grace Brown and how that became the inspiration for your book? Also, when creating Mattie's character, did you include any aspects of yourself? Thanks so much!
