Nevada Public Library asked this question about Tom Clancy's Line of Sight: THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE THRILLING AMAZON PRIME SERIES JACK RYAN:
Could you explain the series numbering on the Jack Ryan and Jack Ryan jr series? I am finding conflicting numbering and series' names! Thanks.

He started with the Jack Ryan series; then there were mentions of Jack Ryan, Jr. and, eventually a 'Jack Ryan, Jr.' series was identified. Unfortunately, if you check titles, they're often (see list below) the Jack Ryan series. If you check multiple sites, you'll get multiple different answers. Some days, I think publishers/authors like to sow confusion. :( As the cataloger at a public library, I made the decision to follow the numbering of the Jack Ryan series, since it is the original and more popular.

This is what I set up for patrons at my library:

Tom Clancy -
Jack Ryan series overlaps with the Jack Ryan, Jr. Series, to wit:
Jack Ryan #12 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #1
Jack Ryan #13 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #2
Jack Ryan #14 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #3
Jack Ryan #15 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #4
Jack Ryan #16 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #5
Jack Ryan #17 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #6
Jack Ryan #18 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #7
Jack Ryan #19 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #8
Jack Ryan #21 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #9
Jack Ryan #23= Jack Ryan, Jr. #10
Jack Ryan #25 = Jack Ryan, Jr. #12(less)
