Hi JL, I was wondering if Adrien was willing to adopt if Jake ever broached the subject? Jake seems like he would really want to be a dad. Does he have to give up on this dream just because he is with another man? Thanks, Z

Thank you for asking--it's a question I've had a few times, though possibly not on this forum. ;-)
Here's the thing. Our dreams change as we get older, and what Jake wants most out of life now is no longer to be a dad. What he wants most is to spend the rest of his life with Adrien. And it happens that Adrien is someone who does not want children, is not cut out to be a parent.
Plus...the way Jake envisioned having children was very much the traditional (possibly cliche) family dynamic of being away at work during the day (and sometimes night) while his spouse did a lot of the child-rearing. That wouldn't have worked with Kate, let alone with Adrien, and I think by this time, Jake has come to that conclusion all on his own--and is at peace with it.
So no, he doesn't have to give up that particular dream because he's with another man, but because he's with someone who doesn't share that dream.
They do share other dreams though, and those will most likely come true for them. ;-)

Hi Josh! I'm a huge fan of all of your works! I recently finished your Art of Murder Series and your Holmes and Moriarity series. If this question has been asked before I apologize ahead in advance. When can readers expect a pre-order on paperbacks for both "12.2 Percent Murder" and "The Movie Town Murders"? Thank you for your time and I appreciate all of your hard work.

Hi!!! I am currently re-reading the AE series and there's a question I've always had: we know Jake is into S&M but Adrien and he do not partake in it in their personal lives. How come they never discuss it? Isn't Adrien insecure that Jake would need that and seek it elsewhere? thank you and happy 20 year AE anniversary!!!
