What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Heather C. Page I spend most of my time writing academic articles and theses on the history of class relations in the nineteenth century. That requires me to reference EVERYTHING I write and the style of writing required of me is quite rigid. I find that the freedom I get writing fantasy fiction is a break from all the rules and regulations of academic writing. I can write whatever I chose to write. If I want a character to turn into a goldfish then I can make it happen.
