Hello. As of 6/1/18 I have read the first three Haunted Mysteries. I was wondering if you were the inspiration for Zach in your childhood? Also, what was the idea that started the Haunted Mysteries series?

Chris Grabenstein I think Zack is a little like me...although I never worked with ghosts when I was a kid. The inspiration for the series was a tree I saw one morning when I was jogging in the country. It had a bucket of flowers and a white wooden cross nailed to its bark and I wondered if the stretch of road I was running on might be haunted!
