It takes an unusual anecdote, story idea, or character to get me going on a longterm project. If I'm not feeling particularly inspired on a particular day once I'm committed to a project, I sit down at the computer anyway promising myself to spend at least 30 minutes. Even on a day when I'm busy with other things, that often turns into an hour or more.
