Is anyone else confused as to who the guy with the scar who told Alice about John's disappearance? Was that supposed to have been Youssef? I thought if that were the case she would recognize him when she went to go see him in jail. I feel as though I missed something.

The book, in my opinion, is a mess, because the reader is given things which would have best not been given out, to tighten the plot.
