Another question, what would you say is the best chunky (a lot of pages) fantasy series to read if you enjoyed Greatcoats?

Sebastien de Castell Give Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series a try. Each book is fairly short, but there are a ton of them. When I was about fifteen I read Jhereg for the first time and was blown away by the voice and style of the book. If you're looking for something more traditional (and haven't already read it), The Belgariad by David Eddings can be a lot of fun. I think a lot of modern epic fantasy has drawn heavily from his work.

I found Knight's Shadow in a store and fell in love instantly. Chapter 1 had me laughing the whole way through. Sold on the spot! I've resisted the urge to read further until I've ordered Traitor's Blade first.
