Goodreads asked K.E. Nowinsky:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

K.E. Nowinsky For my one story that I was writing (the off-shoot), not that I would call it writer's block but, I had just finished this really dark scene and I needed to walk away to give myself some perspective. Sometimes we have to put ourselves in there and it can be terrifying.
Many of my obstacles have been mental. I've been fearful of this or that (or what have you). Finally I realized I was being ridiculous and that's when I found (many) posts about "just write" or "you should be writing" - just sit down and write - even if it's not about the current piece you are working on. My blogs have really helped me too!
Most recently, I get some caffeinated coffee or tea, turn up Pandora and just start typing away!! You should try it! I read an article where they said music is the most stimulating thing for your brain.
