Goodreads asked Sheila Callaham:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Sheila Callaham I think that writer's block is a sign of trying to hard, of looking outside of myself for what I think readers want to read. Whenever I feel stuck, I stop what I'm doing, take a long walk, and then turn inward for the right answer. If it doesn't come right away, I ask for the answer when I go to bed. Often I will wake up the next morning, excited to jump out of bed and write because I know exactly what to do! :-)
