I'm a little over a third into the book, Zelie is trying to harness her powers so she is able compete in the arena. She keeps repeating incantations that aren't working and then seemingly out of nowhere remembers a girl dying named "Minoli" and is able to finally get a grip on her powers, so to speak. I don't remember Minoli at all; does anyone else remember her from earlier in the book?

Mahri She actually isn't mentioned in the beginning of the book. She is mention in a flashback.
