Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sherabim Allen The idea for my latest book "Mema's Prettysist Little Black Girls" was inspired by my grandmother who we referred to as "Mema". She always referred to my sisters and myself as her pretty little black girls. The manuscript is not based on her life; some elements of mine, but not on any particular individual. It is based on three sisters and two cousins whose life was impacted by the Grandmother's influence.
