I love this guy's writing , Agent Zig Zag worked the triple agent thing so beautifully you'd swear it was fiction...how's this one compare?

Believe it or not, this one is even better.

I've read almost all of Macintyre's books and this is one of the best. The one that got me hooked (and still my sentimental favorite) is The Man Who Would Be King: The First American in Afghanistan (2004) - an unusual book on an unusual topic. Turns out, Kipling's story was partially based on an eccentric American adventurer.

Haven't read this latest publication on Philby but here's a fascinating interview with the author heard on CBC radio today - 25 mins.:

This was my favorite one of his so far (Spy and the Traitor was also good) but Spy Among Friends was very tough to put down.
