How do you get inspired to write?

Partha Banerjee Writing comes easy to me. I have been writing practically all my life. I wrote exclusively in Bengali when I was in Calcutta: did not have the required dexterity to write in English. Since I graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, I felt much more confident to write regularly in English. Now both languages come to me naturally. I get inspired by seeing the real world around me: the people, the human conditions, the pain, suffering, and joy. And my own life as an immigrant in America: so many raw experiences! I wish I had more time to write.
