I wanted to write a novel that was based in North Somerset, which is an area that we visit frequently, and I find quite interesting and indeed, mysterious! It was always going to be a crime novel, for which I had a few ideas. But the power station gave me the idea for the conspiracy that eventually materialised in my mind.....
