This includes a spoiler and is only intended for people who have read the book. I don’t understand why Russ shot himself. The whole plot is really well constructed, the characters all believable, but this guy who has played both sides hard and loose through the whole book commits suicide rather than get arrested? Please tell me I missed something. Why is Hess so convinced he will go quietly?
